DVA Attendant Care

Experienced, personalised support for veterans since 2017

Your Way Support Services (YWSS) has been providing DVA-funded Attendant Care since 2017, supporting veterans to remain safe, independent and supported in their own homes and communities.

Based in Moreton Bay, we provide personalised Attendant Care ranging from regular assistance with everyday activities through to complex, high-needs and 24/7 support arrangements.

We believe good support starts with understanding the individual — their routines, preferences, needs and the people they want around them.

Your Support. Your Choice. Your Way.

What is DVA Attendant Care?

DVA Attendant Care provides eligible veterans with assistance to manage essential personal care and everyday activities where support is required as a result of an accepted service-related condition.

Depending on the veteran's individual circumstances and DVA approval, Attendant Care may assist with activities such as:

  • Personal hygiene and showering
  • Dressing and grooming
  • Toileting and personal care
  • Eating and drinking
  • Mobility and transfers
  • Assistance with approved daily activities
  • Other personal support approved by DVA

Every veteran's circumstances and DVA approval are different.

YWSS works with the veteran, their family or representative, and relevant professionals to understand their approved supports and establish an individualised support arrangement.

Why choose Your Way?

DVA experience since 2017

YWSS has been delivering DVA-funded Attendant Care since 2017, giving our team extensive experience in providing and administering long-term DVA support arrangements.

Consistent support teams

Continuity matters. We work to build stable, reliable support teams and long-term relationships wherever possible.

Choice of support workers

We believe you should have genuine input into who provides support in your home. We work with you to identify and match workers according to your needs, preferences and required competencies.

Experienced workforce

Our workforce includes experienced disability support workers and Assistant in Nursing (AIN) qualified team members. Workers are selected according to the requirements of the individual support arrangement.

Individual-specific training

Where additional competencies are required, workers can undertake appropriate training and competency assessment relevant to the individual's support requirements.

Local and responsive

YWSS was established in Caboolture in 2017. Our management team remains closely involved in service delivery and responsive to the people we support.
